Baum und Pferdgarten
Words by Didder Rønlund
Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave took us back to the 6o's with their collection, which was shown at City Hall with great attention from hallways and corridors, where staff members were peeking
out. That is always a definite sign of a designer's popularity.
Rikke and Helle know a thing or two about well-constructed clothes without frills that you will just want to have. Their new collection was shown with booties and little burgundy socks in
stilettos. And suddenly, it was time to consider a pair of tattered pencil trousers with a simple woollen coat for a weekday.
I also put the collection's perfect knits, with ¾ sleeves over simple silk blouses, on my wish list. As well as grey knits, which had broad black stripes, were particularly tempting for a pair of
grey flannel trousers.
Leopard print was an eye-catcher in a super simple coat with black leather sleeves. The two talented designers had packed the palette with merry surprises for the well dressed, including navy,
champagne and green among the winter colours.
Baum und Pferdgarten signalled youthful fashion for adults without alienating their young followers, and that is the trick that characterises these two talented designers.
