Yes! Malene did it again. She enthralled with all her talents and her whole being, the lady is both humble and devil-may-care. She assumed her star position in Danish fashion with a collection that
was so differently ladylike and almost muted, as if made for the present days' seriousness.
The set up in Carlsberg's large bottling hall had a genuine New York nightclub vibe to it with the fashion house's impressive crystal chandeliers over the first rows, where you sat in pairs at
small tables with chilled champagne, and waiters to pour. It was like being in a movie, until the most spectacle show of the fashion rounds was shot off, and Søren Hedegaard's Hitchcock blondes
walked the catwalk wearing all the clothes. Malene Birger loves to stay up to date, but draws her inspiration from the 50's and 60 's.
Beautiful, black tailored suits and bare backs of the evening dresses - consciously sexy, magically made the style appear. Nostalgia or not, we were taken back to a time, when everything was more
fun, and men were Mad Men. But back then we did not have the opportunity to get our hands on a pair of Malene Birger trousers, as refined as the translation of the collection, worn with the world's
most beautiful blouses in satin or chiffon.
As an alternative to black, Birger mixed brown and ming blue, but she was also strong in delicate ice-blue and animal print. And approx. 6o black finale women in similar suits almost overwhelmed
the most discerning guests.
Help! I am running out of gilt-edged superlatives for all this elegance, but there were towering stilettos with heels as lines in the air and goodbye platforms!
