The much anticipated "The World's Greatest Catwalk" was successfully executed in Copenhagen this Saturday, August 14. An impressive crowd of approx. 100,000 spectators lined up along the one-mile long and pink runway on the pedestrian street "Strøget", curious to see the 220 models showing this season's autumn-winter 2010 collections by nearly 200 Scandinavian brands. The World's Greatest Catwalk was not only the longest catwalk ever, but also the greatest in terms of number of models, spectators and brands contributing to the fashionable looks on the catwalk. Furthermore the catwalk was also a charity event supporting the organization "Chernobyl Children's Project International". More than 80 retailers in the center of Copenhagen donated 1% of Saturday's turn-over to the organization.
