Danmarks Designskole's mission is to further the international position of Danish design, the competitiveness of Danish industry and to be operational in establishing international standards for design education and design research. Danmarks Designskole is aiming at becoming a design university by 2010, whereupon the students will receive an academic design degree. During this process, the school has focused increasingly on research and artistic practise and the study projects are being included in the research projects. The overall assignment is to unite the school's craft tradition with the academic method.
